What is the biggest challenge in missions?

A »

From a Biblical standpoint, the greatest challenges in missions are: workers, laborers or missionaries. Jesus said in Matthew 9:37-38 and Luke 10:2, “the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out work into his harvest field.” If we understand the authority of Christ, and the call to missions, then our greatest challenge is simply getting the work force to go.

An abundance of sowing will bring an abundance of reaping. The follow up to having an active labor force in the mission field, is found in Romans 10:14-15. It says, “How can they hear (the gospel) unless someone preaches to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?” If we are all called to missions, but only some are called to be missionaries, then some are “goers” and the rest are “senders”. An active labor force needs an active sending force!
