Is every believer a missionary?

A »

Based on the Creation Mandate and the call to ‘Go and Tell’, or to fill the earth, does that make every believer a missionary? No, it does not. While you find that every believer is indeed called to engage the Biblical mandate for missions, not every believer is called to personally go to another land or to change cultures.

A missionary is a “sent one” or “one sent on a mission”. This is found in Romans 10:13-15, “how can they preach unless they are sent.” The word “sent” in the Greek is apostello – to send out (on a mission). So there are specific ‘sent ones’ called missionaries.
