Why don’t missionaries get a salary from their mission agency?

A »

Mission agencies that are not funded by denominations also bear the burden of funding the operations that serves the missionaries on the front lines. It would place an unrealistic burden on the Mission Agency to raise funds for corporate needs and for the missionaries and their projects. Also, the vision and faith of missionaries is strengthened as they carry the torch and share it over and over again in their partner raising.

This time of raising up partners not only builds their support base but serves as a springboard to send them into the field in greater faith, clarity of vision and confidence that God has called them. As the candidates share their vision and calling, God always helps them identify the people and resources to finance their missionary venture.
