When did missions start?

A »

Abraham had a very specific call to the world. In Genesis 12:1-4, he was told to “leave his father, his family, his land, and to go to a land that God would show him” and that through his obedience, “all families on earth would be blessed through him.”

Hebrews 11:8-9 says that “Abraham went out to the place he would receive as an inheritance, and dwelt in a strange country with heirs of the same promise.” Abraham’s life, example, story and testimony are clearly a missionary from start to finish.
