The average STM is 7-10 days and includes a team of 4-10 people, unless the project requires more trip participants. It includes ministry to the locals and support for the ongoing work of the full-time missionary.
Typically, we eat the local fare. It’s tasty, healthy and provides more of a missions experience.
A member of our STM Department or the missionary at the destination supervises the trip. If a team leader is appointed from a local church, that team leader works with the Go To Nations appointed leader.
Funding for short-term trips comes from a variety of sources, from fundraising activities, private donors such as friends and family, church groups or the participant could pay for the trip themselves.
There is medical care in every location where Go To Nations missionaries live. However, all trip participants are required to purchase overseas medical insurance. In the event that a major medical emergency arose, the insurance provides evacuation coverage to get the individual to the best hospital available in the time needed.
Anything and everything the team is able to do, such as: Bible training, drama presentations, feeding and clothing the poor, working with victims of human trafficking, construction projects, development work, and intercessory prayer for the people and ministry, prayer for the sick, medical ministry, children’s ministry and so much more.
Many possibilities exist for short-term trips. Go To Nations has missionaries living in 25 nations. They provide ministry opportunities through Go To Nations’ Short-term Missions Department for short-term trips.
