Are there any examples of Missionaries in the Bible?

A »

Yes, there are many. Almost every story in both the Old and New Testament are stories involving a cross cultural witness. Joseph, Esther, Daniel, the three Hebrew children, Ruth, Abraham, Isaac, David & Solomon – are all stories of believers engaging, living in, or witnessing to cultures other than their own.

In Genesis 12:1-4, Abraham is called “out” of his own nation and “sent” to another nation.
Jonah was sent to Nineveh to witness. Jeremiah was called “a prophet to the nations” when he was still in the womb.

Paul made regular “missions” trips throughout the book of Acts, visiting most of central Asia in his lifetime.
